A charming, former grape-pickers' cottage in a quiet wine-producing village 25 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches. Set in lovely countryside, it would be an ideal base for spring, autumn or winter breaks, wine-tasting or antique hunting holidays.The nearby town of Pezenas is one of the two largest antique centres in France.

Tourbes is a living, growing, working village - in contrast to many of the surrounding villages where holiday homes outnumber local residents. The majority of the population is involved in the main local industry, winemaking, and Tourbes Cave Co-operative has a very good reputation, winning a gold medal in Pares for its 1996 Sauvignon. There is a very well stocked local grocery shop, with adjoining tobacconists and newsagents (selling UK papers only a day late), a boulangerie, butcher and chemist, with other needs supplied by a weekly mini-market on Wednesday where you will find a greengrocer and fishmonger. The supermarkets of Pezenas are only 5 minutes away by car. The Countryside One minute's walk from our garden gates and you are suddenly in what feels like remote countryside with, apart from the well-tended vineyards, barely a sign of human occupation. A glance at a map of France will show you that a straight line from Pezenas to Millau, 65km away, goes through nothing but uninhabited country. The opportunities for walking, hiking, cycling and riding are endless (there are several stables in the area offering organised trekking). See Website Below for more details
